solitude

I've always found comfort in Edward Hopper's Gas(1940). A solitary man, with only enough room for a single car. Deal with Life's problems one at a time. One at a time.

I've always liked it, too. Something very peaceful, clean and orderly about it.

Sadly chaos doesn't come, one at a time. More like a bulldozer on nitro sans driver and falling off the roof and you don't see it until too late.

Hopper and his possessive wife still reign supreme within his art. One of the best at finding isolation within the human landscape.
