If I may ask, what books did you love as a boy Phil?
Sports biographies mostly, but I also remember a book about Homer(not Simpson) and his donut making machine.
Got any of your own from childhood?
Yes... The Narnia Chronicles and also a lovely fairytale book that I should dig out... it had the most charming paintings, and I call them to mind still on occasion.
I think this calls for a new post on my blog. :)
What's this about another Homer with a love of donuts? Can you tell us more?
I've searched and searched. Of course if I google 'Homer' and 'donuts' at the same time, you know who pops up. :)
Anyway, it was kind of like a boy-who-saves-the-world story.
I also now recall some 'Big Little Books,' that were about 1 inch thick, small and well-illustrated stories involving those famous Looney Tune characters.
