sighs of a summer night
From Andy and Opie-Bachelors, with Aunt Bee out of town a few days, Miss Peggy (Joanna Moore) drops by to help out with cooking and tucking in. Rumors fly when the town barber-mouth, Floyd, insists she has matrimony on her mind. Naw, heck it's 1962 after all, and she just wants to look in on "two helpless bachelors."
With a song thrown in just to break our hearts.

Okay, I admit it. I love The Andy Griffith Show. And that Floyd! Wasn't he a character?
This was so pretty, I just had to come back and listen to it again. Sigh.
This was yet another show I missed by not growing up here. But I feel I know it just by reputation and the impact it had on people I know.
Ah, this is so pretty. Andy really should have stuck with her instead of Helen Crump.
Did you realize that Joanna Moore was Tatum O'Neal's mother? Small, strange world.
Willow, it gets plenty of play here too. :)
g...the show has been playing somewhere on tv for 48 straight years. Quite a record! I can't tell you how many times it has kept me company.
pamela...I agree! His chemistry in the episodes with Peggy prove it. :)

Sorry!
Welcome, rima!
Glad you stopped by.
Your Hermitage looks wonderful! Kind of like stumbling upon a lost treasure in an archaic hidden library.

I remember watching this on the original episode when I was a little girl. I was sure Miss Peggy was in and Miss Crump was on her way out....
